16 Years
Sixteen years.
Sixteen years of chasing sunsets and 1am editing sessions. Sixteen years of wondering if this dream is actually real then waking up and seeing that it is. Sixteen years of pouring pieces of my heart into every image.
There were moments I didn’t feel good enough and moments when I wanted to quit. Moments when the bookings were slow and moments when comparison stole my creativity.
But here I am, 16 years in because something deep inside me can’t quit. It’s my obsession and my passion.
For sixteen years, I have documented people’s stories through snapshots. Some posed and prompted and quiet candids in between. I have documented love, connection, milestones, grief, joy, and everything in between. I have given people physical proof of their memories.
And if 16 years ago I wasn’t a desperate college kid needing extra cash I may not have gotten to have this beautiful career today.
Thousands of moments frozen in time. Countless clients who trusted me with pieces of their lives. Animals who are no longer here but whose portraits still hang on walls. Families who can look back and remember.
Photography seems so simple but it’s the one of the only things that live on past us that tells the stories of who we were and what we loved.
I know the photographer I was sixteen years ago would be amazed by who I became.
So here is to sixteen years is worth celebrating, let’s take a look down memory lane…
